Off Season Guide

The Playoffs are almost upon us and the Off season is close. Here's a condensed guide so owners know what to expect and what they need to do. Note that the time limits will be displayed on the forum and on the XFN site.


1. From the time the Super Bowl winner is crowned, (Congrats to Joey and his Tampa Bay Buccaneers) owners will have a total of 24 hours to trim their rosters down to 48 players. This is to make room for the 7 incoming rookies. Failure to do so will result in random players from your roster being dropped into Free Agency for all owners to bid on. These cuts must be made through XFN only. You can check the rosters by going to Front Office > Roster Breakdown. The deadline to trim your rosters to 48 players is March 29 2012 at 7pm est.

1.b. We will start the rookie draft on the forum, while we wait for the other aspects of the off season to be completed. https://ussml.canadian-forum.com/t2734-forum-rookie-draft#12357


2. After this we will have a 24 hour player resigning period. These are the players who have expiring contracts who you would like to keep on your roster. Please don't forget special teams players as well. If you go to Front Office > Sign/Release the expiring players will be outlined in red:
Last season quite a few owners neglected to complete this step and they lost some very good players to Free Agency.
Furthermore. Owners are only allowed to sign these players to a max of 4 years.


3. The Rookie Draft period is up next. As soon as we know the Draft Order (After Super Bowl) we will begin conducting the draft on the forum and will finish it via XFN.


4. When the Rookie Draft is completed we will have a 24 hour rookie signing period.


5. Then there will be a Free Agent Bidding Period. This period will last approximately 24 hours.


6. Season games can begin.
