Ravens Scouting Report
The Ravens are a pretty balanced team. Offensively they can run the ball pretty well, the offensive line gets a good push and it is difficult to stop the momentum. They will throw the pass into the mix although they mainly focus on the run. When they do pass it will usually be down the middle, they will check out of plays and run quick slants to keep the defense off balance. Rarely will they go for the deep ball unless forced to by the situation. If you can stop the run, you have a chance of establishing yourself and stopping the offense. They can rely on the pass but it will not be their strong suit. Their offensive line will provide good protection and will not allow very much penetration. You will be better off containing the run at the line of scrimmage than trying to stop it on the backfield.
Defensively the ravens are among the top of the league and its were their main strength resides. It will be difficult to develop a good rhythm on offense and they will adjust to the gameplan quickly. They play out of a 4-3 base with little variation. They will not willingly give the deep pass. They will surrender some yardage on the check down and curls but they will be ready to wrap it up and prevent any YAC. Their defensive players are fast and strong, matching their speed and athleticism will be difficult so you will have to rely on good play calling to get anything going on the ground. Their pass coverage is effective and the LB are good in zone coverage. Your best bet will be to mix in the pass and the run to establish some sort of rhythm and force the blitz, be ready take advantage of it since you won't get that many opportunities to get something. They can also create an effetive 4 man rush without the need of blitzing.
