Week 15 was a good week as we only had one simulated game. The Titans/Colts had to be simulated due to internet connection issues. We pushed the advance back 12 hours so we could not push it back any further to get this one game in. If you have any problems scheduling your games, please let Hittched or myself know as soon as possible so we can get a sub to play for you. Nobody should have to play the CPU or have their game simmed if they are making a significant effort the schedule their game. Simming games or playing the CPU should only be an absolute last resort. This is why it is important to schedule your games early. I have noticed that some owners wait until the last possible minute to post or try contacting their opponent. This is unacceptable as doing this does not allow your opponent the chance to find a sub if something comes up. So please schedule your games as early as possible. Also, please refer to the scrolling headline at the top of the forum for scheduled advance time if you have any questions about it.
*The second issue I want to address is trading. I have seen owners talking about trading players and picks they acquired this season once the off season hits. If you acquired a player during season one you can not trade him again until week 1 of season 2. Also, if you acquired a draft pick during season 1, you must make that selection during the year 1 draft. This rule is in place to help ensure some of the integrity of the rosters and the moves owners make. Trades should not be entered into lightly and if you make a deal you have to live with the outcome. So think about the deals you make thoroughly before you make them because you will be stuck with those players for a full season and the following off season. Also, please pay careful attention to the number of trades you have made and the number of players you have traded away. Each team is only allowed 5 trades per season including the off season that follows. Also, each team can only trade away 8 players from their team person and the off season that follows. Please post your traded and acquired draft picks in the trades draft picks thread.
Everyone that is currently owning a team in USSML is signed up on XFN as well. This is great because we will be using XFN for all roster move (trades, free agency, releases) and drafting now that the cap and drafting console have been released. However, each owner is only allowed to sign 1 free agent per week right now because the free agent bidding system has not been released yet. Any owner caught signing more than one player per week will be issued a strike. Free agents will be signed on a first come first serve basis for the time being. The Jags, Bears and Texans are the only available teams right now.
We have had some great games lately with intense competition. It is great to see the improvement of some owners who started poorly but are making strong playoff pushes at the end. We have a very competitive league this year, especially in the NFC where every week we have 2-3 games matching two teams fighting for a playoff spot. With that being said, please keep your games sim and refer to the rulebook if you are unsure of something. Just a reminder that the rulebook will continue to be modified if it is deemed necessary.
Good luck guys and schedule those games early!
