The Viking came into the season looking to shore up key areas on Offense and Defense. GM kingbryk made some huge trades and made some fantastic free agent pick ups.

Bernard Berrian 95 speed WR back to retire a viking.

With the edition of wilfork and cunningham give the Viking the Best Dline in the league.
Starting D line is: Allen 97 DE Williams 95 Dt wilfork 95 DT Robinson 86 de/cunningham 79 Pass rush specialist.

Vikes GM kingbryk is hoping for a big year from his D and expects to pound the ball on offense with one of the best Running back in the league in Adrian Peterson.

Week 1 Vikes @ Chargers.

On paper this looking like a matchup that the chargers should win. Coming into the game the Vikes Knew they would have to pound the rock and that is what they did over and over and over. The viking ran the ball 39 times for 261 yards on the ground. AP leading the charge with 3 touchdowns and 234 yards. Free agent pick up ryan Torain added 25 yards on 5 carries. Welcome to the NFL for Rookie QB Christian Ponder he ended the game with 2 critcal ints that almost cost the viking the game. ponder had this to say after the game. " i was nevous and i was playing my idol Philip Rivers in the game. i gauruntee i will play better in my next game." Gm kingbryk told the kid he better get his head in the game or he will be traded period. The Chargers were a one trick pony on offense as Antonio Gates Had 230 yards of the 268 yards passing the chargers had in the game. Gates was almost imposible to stop in the game. But even with Gates having a huge game it was not enough as the Vikes take the WIN in SD 24-21 in overtime. Viking D did what is was suposed to do shut down the running game and Vicent Jackson as he was held to zero catches. Vikes D ened the game with 5 sacks 1 int and 1 FF. The game was played without newly aquired wilfork and cunningham so the D looks to Stand even tougher in the next games ahead. Week 2 match up Buccaneers @ Vikings HOME OPENER

Week 2 Buccaneers @ Vikings

Viking Home opening weekend game also the game of the week so fans and players were fired up for this game.

Coming into the game the vikes D knew this was going to be a hard fought game with the buccaneers passing attack. So the D was ready to stand tall with the starting D line up of Cunningham, Wilfork, Williams and Allen taking the field. Jermaine Cunningham did not disappoint the fans or GM kingbryk for making the move to bring him in to start for the vikes, as he recorded 2 sacks and 4 tackles in his first game. With the swarming pressure the Vikes Dline causing so much havok on the Buccaneers decided to go to a lot of quick throws and poor decision and Josh Freeman forced the ball in to Kellen Winslow to too many times as he was picked of 2 times. Adrian Peterson once again was a man against boys as he bowled over defender after defender on his way to 3 touchdowns and 172 yards on the ground. In a surprise game time coaching decision Rookie QB Ponder was benched due to him missing Saturday night Curfew as he was out getting drunk with his girlfriend before his what would have been his first Home start for the team. Free Agent pick up Jonathan Crompton in stead got the opening day start for the Vikes and he looked sharp as ever completing 9/12 throwing bullets pass all over the field. The former Tennessee Vols QB had this to say after the game. " I was lucky enough to get the call from Vike GM Kingbryk and there was no way i was going to let the man down. " As the game progressed the Vikes Rushing attack and swarming D was just to much for the Buccaneers as the Vikes take the win 24-13.

Week 3 had this Divisional match up turn into one of the greatest games these two teams have ever played. Huge play after huge play lead to one on the most dramatic finishes in team history. Percy Harvin was the man of the day for the viking as he set team and nfl records on the day hauling in 7 catches for 287 yards and 3 tds. The biggest catch of the day came with just 5 seconds left in the game as he hauled in the catch of his life on a perfectly throw 53 yards bomb from Cromton sealing the 45-38 victory for the vikings.

Week 4 had the viking heading into Arrow head for a battle of all-star running backs facing off. Once again Adrian Peterson stole the show and out dueled Jamal Charles as the Viking D shut down charles holding him to just 69 yards on 15 attempts. Peterson Carried the team with 19 carries 162 yards and 4 touchdowns as he continues to show why he is leading the league in rushing yards, Td's, and Attempts.
We know it is early in the season but he is sure making a case for the league MVP early on in the season. Vike walk away with the win 38-21 as the chiefs scored a few late touchdowns against the viking backups.

Adrian Peterson running away with the rushing crown and league MVP this season as the vikes continue there inpresive run at the playoffs posting a 11-2 record so far.

EVO2 reporters caught up with AP after the win vs the lions last night

EVO2: So AP how are you guys winning all the games this season?

AP: Well guys our Defense and offensive line deserve most of the credit. We have only gave up 15 sacks on the year and our D has recorded 47 which is just a stagging number.
EVO2: AP how do you feel about being a league MVP canidate.
AP: well guys to be honest i worked out hard this offseason and my team was built to help me perform at a higher level this year. i have 1975 yards this year and my goal of 2300 yards this season is still in reach.
EVO2: AP you have rushed for over 100 yards in 11 of your 13 games how do you do it when team know they have to stop you.

AP: my offensive line is key but i hit the weights and upped may cardio this past offseason. When Gm kingbryk came to town he told me personally " AP im going to make sure you are given your chance to be MVP this year." After he told me that there was no way i was letting him down.
EVO2: So what can we expect from the vikes in the playoffs?
AP: well boys you can expect the purple people eaters on D to smash people in the mouth and when i get the ball expect me to run you over. This is the year of the VIKES.

week 14 vikes vs saints

Heading into this week the vikes knew they had a high powered offense to stop in the saints Drew Brees and Daren Sproles. The vikes d stood tall and shut down drew bres holding him to a season low 144 yards passing Daren Sproles was a no factor as the D held him to just 57 yards on 19 carries for a 3 yard average. Percy Harvin and Adrian Peterson continued to show why they are the team to beat in the NFC as they combined for 289 yards of the viking offense. It was a game that was not as close as the score board showed. Vikes win 21-14 as the saints added a late touchdown to make the game look respectable. Jonathan Crompton had one of his worst games as a starter as he threw 3 ints and looked like he may not be the vikes starter for the long haul. Rookie Qb chistian ponder is still in the Gm's Doghouse and has not scene a snap this year. Chances are he will be traded in this coming offseason.

week 16 Vikings @ Redskins vikes win 31-12

In a surprise move the vikes signed JaMarcus Russell off the competitive eating curcuit to start the final 2 games of the year for the team. With the #2 seed locked up in the NFC the vikes have nothing to play for. The back ups expect to see alot of action from here on out. Russel was asked how he felt back in the NFL... " it feels great to get back on the field i am just show casing my talent hoping som team notices me." Vikes GM kingbryk is always full of surprises.
